and welcome to Bristol Blue Glass USA!
My name is Jane
Carr and I am the owner of Bristol Blue Glass,
USA. We are located in the picturesque New England
town of New Boston, New Hampshire, USA.
I
first discovered Bristol Blue Glass up close
in June of 2000. I had decided to take a trip
to England to search for my Father's name. While
growing up, he often spoke of his World War
II experience and his time served in the United
States Army Air Corp. as a bombardier, stationed
at the air base in Lavenham, England. While
on a few days leave from duty, the American
and British soldiers would frequent the Swan
Inn for some R&R. There the men would carve
their name and rank into the bar as a remembrance
of their time spent together. After my Father
passed away in 1998, my mission was to go find
his name at the Swan Inn in Lavenham. With the
help of my dear friend, Allen Ng, I was able
to travel to the quaint village of Lavenham
to the now, very posh, Swan Hotel, as it is
now called, where I did find my Father's name!
It was a very special moment indeed, one I will
treasure forever! |
During my trip, my dear friend took me to
the Bristol Blue Glass factory, where I immediately
fell in love with exquisite beauty of the
rich cobalt blue glassware and the one of
a kind uniqueness that each piece of presents.
I was also very impressed to know the history
of this famous blue glassware, dating back
to the Napoleon era. I felt the urge to share
these uniquely hand crafted pieces here in
America. In late 2001, I became the first
Bristol Blue Glass supplier for the USA! It
is with great pride and honor that my dream
has become a wonderful reality! I share these
lovely pieces of free blown glassware with
you all in the USA and beyond and truly hope
you will love each of the items as much as
I do!

All production processes are
undertaken on site at Bristol Blue Glass (South West) LTD.,
Bristol.
All our pieces of Bristol Blue Glass are unique, and
individual as each one is hand crafted. (Moulds are
not used). Differences in size and thickness are proof
that your Bristol Glass has been Free Blown.
Items are made to order by time served craftsmen, Steve Baker and his team, whose combined years of experience make this a unique team in Bristol.
Pieces that have been designed, hand-made and hand
finished by Steve Baker are signed by him and the
mark BBG is engraved on the base of each item. |
